30 hour longcase clock by John Bunting of Long Buckley
£550

This is a 30 hour, count wheel striking clock with a brass dial and silvered chapter ring. Made approximately 1750, this is a nice example of a country clock with a singe hand showing the hour.
It has been fully serviced and the dial has been re-silvered.
- Clock completely dismantled and all parts checked for wear.
- Minor scoring of pivots polished out to ensure reliable operation of clock.
- Centre rear pivot hole bushed to remove oval wear.
- Clock parts cleaned using conservation approved techniques.
- Assembled and oiled with Mobius HP1300 for large pivots and HP500 elsewhere.
This clock can be run so it strikes the hour (it will need winding every day), but if preferred it can be silenced allowing it to run for 1/2 a week before it needs winding.
Longcase clock by John Anderson of Duns
SOLD

This is a 2 train rack striking clock with a brass silvered dial with recoil escapement. It has an oak case standing 80″ (2030mm) high. John Anderson is recorded as a clockmaker in Duns(e) between the dates of 1776 and 1802. The clock appears to have been resident in Scotland for much of its life with a receipt from an Edinburgh clockmaker in 1958 found in the case.
There are some other examples of John Anderson’s work on the Dunse History Society clocks page.
The clock has been fully serviced and the case restoration is featured in a recent blog.
